Conjunctiva Disorder
The DDA learns a new word today - Conjunctiva.

The conjunctiva under the DDA's right eyelid has been causing discomfort to the eye when wearing contact lenses. This is due to long hours of use, and coupled with dry eye conditions.
The result is that the conjunctiva got wrinkled under the eyelid, creating lump looking pockets which looked like some growth under the eyelid. The wrinkled conjuntiva when moving against the contact lens caused pain in the eye.
That made the DDA really concerned and checked her eyes. Upon finding two lumps under the eye - somewhat like a pimple growth - one would think it's an eye infection. Very worrying indeed, which brought the DDA to a second visit to the optician.
The optician explained that it wasn't any infectious growth, it was a wrinkled eye membrane! What great relief!
Now the DDA has to stay away from contact lens wear for a good couple of days. Apart from that she has to nurse the conjunctiva back to healthy conditions by applying warm towel over the outer eyelid. That would promote eye lubrication with good tear production.
When she goes back to using contact lenses, she needs to reduce the usage time, and use contact lens drops to keep the eyes well lubricated. This should keep the eyes healthier.
Of course then she should get contact lens check up every six months. It costs approximately £30 for a contact lens check up. Not to mention that normal eye checks are separate from contact lens checks in London, it costs approximately £25.

dun wear contact lense for too long..
once, my mom had some problem wif her eyes, cuased by contact lense. Doctors in Penang couldnt help her, until she had to go consult eye especialist in KL. had an operation and stayed in the hospital for few days.
Remember give ur eyes some rest, and clean ur contact lenses properly.
