You Got Something To Eat?

Can't help this, but it's a pretty entertaining piece of writing.

Check it out on Onion.

Last Day @ Work

Yesterday was the last day working with the colleagues in the office the DDA has been working at for the past 10 months.

Colleagues at work sent the DDA off with a dinner do on Wednesday and drinks after work yesterday. For the leaving dinner, the DDA chose Okonomiyaki @ Abeno on Museum Street. It turned out to be a good choice afterall. With 15 altogether the seating was a little tight, however the dining experience proved to be entertaining, and the food was satisfying.

The Okonomiyaki meal was just so interesting the DDA couldn't help but captured these:

Drinks after work yesterday seemed a little embarassing for the DDA, especially the speech by the manager. The little goodbye gesture from all colleagues was lovely in fact. The DDA loves the card with messages from all she's worked with.

Drinks carried on at a nearby pub. It turned out to be a rather interesting session. The DDA made it home safe, but the Finn was very much convinced that she was drunk. She did walk out of the pub leaving behind one other bag she had with her, but remembered just on the brink whilst reflecting on the underground platform. For a split second she was pretty tempted to leave the bag to collect it the following day... then again maybe she wasn't absolutely drunk, so she went back.

It is rather ironic that you find friends the moment you are leaving a place where you've built relationships. Then again a person still has to go on despite knowing that change can be daunting and fearful. Change is necessary in the process of growth.

Lazy Sunday

What do you do on a Sunday morning?

This question spurred thoughts of 'what do my parents do on a Sunday morning?' and 'what did my parents do at my age on a Sunday morning?' and 'what is a good way of spending a Sunday morning?'.

Ok, maybe they are all seemingly unexciting questions that do not serve any purpose than occupy the DDA's brain, deceiving it into thinking that it's doing an intellectually important task.

At this point you must start to think that the DDA is full of bulls**t. Oh well, life is boring without it!

Right, back to the question, you must wonder 'why the question? what is so important about it???!'. Really, there is nothing important nor exciting. Just that the DDA wanted to share some funny blog posts found on Carbo Man's blog. It is a Malaysian blogger who keeps a blog named TV Smith's Dua Sen.

Pretty entertaining to the DDA on a Sunday morning:
-Blogging for Dungus
-The Tun Blogs
-Dr. M vs Pak Lah
-Cops vs Ah Longs

And if you are interested in knowing what Malaysians blog about, check out BolehBlogs.

Cream Candy

The Finn is going nuts over these 大白兔奶糖

Rather interesting print design on a paper cup

Guess where it's from?

Heat Wave

The DDA is melting with the temperature hitting 30° and above every other day in London! Commuting on the public transport becomes a nightmare as there is no good ventilation and it's just extremely horrifying especially during the rush hours.

Next week will be the last week working at the current work place. In between the training to hand over work and getting the production work completed, there are still many odd issues on past publications to address.

On one hand the DDA is looking forward to start at the new job. On the other hand she is reluctant to leave the colleagues behind as she's now established relationships with many in the office.

Ok, now the DDA is distracted by a very interesting website, her mind wanders off to the things she wants to do... buy a present for her father, start thinking about some interesting new knitting patterns (maybe it's still too early to plan for Christmas presents?!), and most of all this website has reminded her of a project she so wanted to do but has kind of abandoned since she started permanent employment at this current work place.

Oh well, off to get lost in the world of wonderment then!

Saturday Meal

Hee hee... this is a very unhealthy but yummy-licious meal.
Curly fries with bacon and cheese + Greek salad.
But of course the greek salad was a healthy side dish!

Decision Making

The DDA has made a difficult decision to move on from the current job into a new one. There were initially great concerns about job security, but then she has decided that there will never be a right or wrong to any decision. No matter what the outcome is, it will still be positive if she wants it to be.

So whatever the outcome to this decision, she will take them as positive ones and lead a life with no worries.

Easier said than done. Being the worry wort that she is, the DDA will no doubt grow worries in her head now and again. But after this moving on decision made, the DDA feels a happier person again.

So here we go, heads up and look ahead to the new job in August!

The Couple

The DDA wrote this sometime in May 2004. She had an opportunity to attend a Chinese creative writing class, she then made a translated version for this story.

She's still not convinced that it's completely finish.

Lovers you saw
as you went by the stairway
stood in the dark in warm embrace

Taking a closer look you see
hugging each other tightly they were
a couple deeply in love

Such content shining across their being
as they settle snugly in each other's arms
falling deep into slumber

This was your story to me that night

Afterall, it was your first
experience spotting pigeons at sleep

Sunset @ Canary Wharf

Euro Pride

Yesterday was Euro Pride day. This is a yearly event for the LGBT community (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender).

The event started off with a parade in Central London, followed by a rally in Trafalgar Square, cabaret stage at Leicester Square, and some exhibits.

The event turned out to be a crowd magnet.

We manage to take a few odd snap shots of the diverse crowd.

To some, this was an event to connect. To some, it was an eye opener.
